  1. What is the maximum number of Keywords per Ad Group?

    There is a limit of 1000 Keywords per Ad Group.

  2. What is the maximum number of Ads per Ad Group?

    There is a limit of 20 Ads per Ad Group.

  3. What is the maximum number of Ad Groups per Campaign?

    There is a limit of 1000 Ad Groups per Campaign.

  4. What is the maximum number of Campaigns per Account?

    There is a limit of 20 Campaigns per Account. Certain accounts may have a higher limit; please contact your Account Manager for details.

  5. What is the limit on the number of Keywords per Account?

    The number of Keywords per Account is limited in the range of 50,000 to 250,000. Please contact your Account Manager for more details.

  6. When an Ad is changed, does it create a new Ad ID?

    No. You use the existing Ad ID to make the change.

  7. When a keyword is changed, does it create a new keyword ID?

    No. You use the existing keyword ID to make the change.

  8. What are the uniqueness rules for Campaign, Ad Group, Ad & Keyword IDs?

    IDs are unique for each data object type across the entire system. E.g. no two Campaigns will ever have the same Campaign ID, no two Ad Groups will ever have the same Ad Group ID etc. However, it is possible that a Campaign and a Keyword could have the same ID. E.g. a Campaign could have an ID of 200 and a Keyword could have an ID of 200.

  9. How many elements are in response pagination?

    The default maximum is 1000.

  10. When editing in batches, what happens when one keyword in the batch fails?

    Each keyword is processed as an individual unit, so you should get a unique error per item in the response object.

  11. Do deleted items (e.g. deleted campaigns, deleted ad groups etc...) count towards maximums?

    No. Only Active or Paused items.

  12. Can you create a new campaign with the same name as a deleted campaign?

    Yes. Uniqueness of names is limited to non-deleted elements in the same parent element.

  13. How do we get the canonical (canon) form of a keyword?

    Check out the keyword object. Each time you add a keyword, you will get a keywordID in return. Use the keywordID to get the original text, the canon form and the phrase canon form.

  14. What is the format of the dateTime type used as the campaign start and end date values?

    Example:

    2007-07-04T14:30:00-08:00

    Which represents July 4th, 2007 at 2:30PM in the Pacific time zone.
